Candidate for Regency Ward
I am Kahina Bouhassane, one of your Green Party Candidates for Brighton and Hove City Council in Regency Ward.
I started in politics because I have seen time and time again those without a voice get taken advantage of and left behind. I have one goal in politics, speaking up for those that are not being heard.
Currently, I am the Deputy Chair of Brighton and Hove Green Party, previously holding the role of Chair. Before that I was the External Communications Officer on the Executive Committee. I am passionate about green politics and dedicated to social reform.
I was born and grew up in Brighton and Hove. I have experienced first-hand local life, first as a child, then student and finally as an adult, professional and activist embedded in my community.
I work as a Communications Strategist and Content Creator for a Sussex art gallery. I have a background in Journalism, having worked extensively as a freelance environmental and political journalist. I also have experience working in schools, supporting the learning and development of children aged 8-18 on the autism spectrum, working in foster care and campaigning for charitable organisations.
I am committed to supporting a better quality of life in Brighton and Hove. I have been involved in extensive organising in our community, from litter picks and weeding to International Women’s day and Pride. I am a hard worker that will put residents first.
I have a proven track record of speaking up for residents and holding power to account as evidenced by my Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner campaign in May 2021.
Promoted by Steve Harris, on behalf of Kahina Bouhassane and the Green Party, both of Brighton & Hove Green Party, 39-41 Surrey Street, Brighton BN1 3PB.
