Police for the People
I am Kahina Bouhassane, your Green Party Candidate for Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner.
I started in politics because I have seen time and time again those without a voice get taken advantage of and left behind. I have one goal in politics, speaking up for those that are not being heard.
Currently, I am the Chair of Brighton and Hove Green Party, and before that I held the role of the External Communications Officer on the Executive Committee. I am passionate about green politics and dedicated to social reform.
I was born and grew up in Sussex, based between Brighton and rural East Sussex. I have seen first hand Sussex’s rural communities being left behind and forgotten when it comes to policing.
During the week I work in a school, supporting the learning and development of children aged 8-18 on the autism spectrum. I have a background in Journalism, having worked extensively as a freelance environmental and political journalist before moving to education.
Policing has been broken for women, BAME communities and rural Sussex for a long time. I am committed to making Sussex Police a force that serves everyone in the community, a police for the people.
Promoted by Steve Harris, on behalf of Kahina Bouhassane and the Green Party, both of Brighton & Hove Green Party, 39-41 Surrey Street, Brighton BN1 3PB.
